Mr Giang Tran Minh Thanh
The Chairman of the Board of Directors cum CEO
Mr. Giang Tran Minh Thanh began his career by founding a luxury serviced apartment chain in Ho Chi Minh City under the brand name “Gem Apartment”. He has previously served as a senior financial investment analyst at CJ Group in Vietnam, a South Korea’s leading conglomerate. Later on, he became a senior investment manager, managing the commercial real estate investment portfolio of Lotte Group in Vietnam, a conglomerate that owns leading commercial real estate brands such as Lotte Center and Lotte Mart.
In 2020, Mr. Thanh became Country Manager at the Venture Capital Fund called Kasikorn Vision (KVision), representing the fund's investments in Vietnam. KVision is a leading venture capital fund in Asia, affiliated with KasikornBank Group (KBank), a leading financial corporation in Thailand, with a fund size of 450 million USD. As one of the leaders of the fund, Mr. Thanh has been participated in 8 investment deals in Vietnam, including 4 significant deals, enabling the fund to deploy more than 45 million USD.
Currently, Mr. Thanh is the Chairman of the Board of Directors cum CEO of Gem Group Joint Stock Company, a diversified corporation with 7 main business segments: financial and banking service, insurance service, advisory service, real estate developer, retail, material trading and hospitality services.
Mr. Thanh is also the CEO of Escrow Solution For Customer Rights And E-business Workflows Joint Stock Company and Director of Gem Fashion Company Limited. In addition, Mr. Thanh is an enthusiastic and dynamic venture capitalist, actively pursuing investments in start-up companies in Vietnam.
Mr. Thanh graduated from the “Honored Program”, a collaboration between Western Sydney University (Australia) and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City with a major in finance. He also holds a degree in Entrepreneurship from Stanford University (USA) and a Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship from Harvard University (USA).
